Gee it’s been hot where I am.

Something that’s been exciting me every morning has been waking up to a Berry Bowl. There are so many different versions of this but I thought I’d give you my simplest, yet delicious 3 ingredient version:

1 banana (the riper the better)

1 handful of frozen mixed berries

1/2 cup of water (less if you want it icier or more if you want it smoothie-like)

Blend until smooth.

Add a handful of your favourite museli on top and enjoy with a spoon.

So easy so quick. My favourite museli at the moment is Morpeth Bakehouse Museli, deluxe, oven baked. It is incredibly natural and nourishing.

I buy discounted over ripe bananas in big quantities and peel them all, breaking them into small pieces and freeze them in a big container. This way I always have ripe bananas on hand to make my concoctions deliciously cool.

I use a Nutribullet which is fantastic for turning hard, frozen berries and banana pieces smooth and silky. It’s also powerful enough to pulverise nuts and all sorts of vegetables into a smooth drink.

If you can afford to buy organic berries, do. Berries are one of the most sprayed crops.

My deluxe version includes adding things like frozen Acai blocks to the blending mix and adding fresh sliced banana and blueberries on top.
