“I’m so busy!”
I think this must be one of the most common responses to “How are you?” nowadays. “Things have been so heckers” “I haven’t had a moment to breathe” “I’ve been run off my feet”.
But I’d like to let you in on a little realisation I’ve just had myself –
Busy isn’t even a feeling.
It’s a state of mind. A state of mind that we CHOOSE to be in.
This year is going to be full of exciting new adventures for me, and with everything seemingly happening at once, I found the busy’s start to creep in; When people asked me how I was. To make excuses for things. To explain why I was grumpy and tired. And perhaps most importantly, when I spoke to myself.
Busy doesn’t feel nice. It feels exhausting. It feels rushed. It feels stressful. So when a friend called me out on going into the busy’s – it really hit home.
Albert Einstein posited the theory of relativity. And his theory of relativity also included our perception of time. How we perceive it is how we experience it. So you may go so far as to say we can control time. I know. Deep breath.
You can stretch or condense time with your perception of it. Think of how different an hour can feel. An hour can seem like an eternity when you are counting down the minutes to see someone you’ve just started dating whom you’re really into. Then an hour spent with them can absolutely fly by and feel like no time has passed at all. You can use this knowledge to choose how you perceive everyday life too.
So with this in mind I am taking a stand. I am going to try to not let the busy’s into my everyday language. This is what helped me discover my third core desired feeling for this year – FLOW.
I don’t want to miss all of the wonderful things that are going to happen this year by sacrificing them at the Altar of Busy. I want to ENJOY them, no matter how much I have going on.
So I’m choosing to be in my flow.
To know that I always have enough time to do all the important things.
To not feel lacking and rushed and stressed by it all. To feel full and steady and flowing in harmony with my journey.
To feel that my time is abundant.
“How are you feeling?” “I’m in my flow.” Now that’s where I’m at!
Let me know in the comments below – have the busy’s entered your life lately? Would you like to turn your back on them with me and ban them from your vocabulary? Doesn’t FLOW sound infinitely more appealing?
Share this with your friends who are busy as a gentle reminder to them that they always have a choice.
Lots of love and ease and flow,
Sacha Marie x
