How would your biggest fan describe what you do? I reckon they would say I lovingly support, guide and encourage modern women to prioritise taking caring of themselves, minus the guilt that is so often associated with doing just that.  They’d also tell you I’m super passionate about spreading the word that there’s more to your health than the size of your jeans or what’s on your dinner plate because there is more to nourish than your body alone.

What’s lighting up your world at the moment? The launch of my website.  Eeeeeee!  So exciting.  It’s been a labour of love for someone like me whose tech skills aren’t what I would classify as a strength hahaha.  The learning curve has been steeeeep but ever so rewarding.  Blogs and online communities were such an important part of my journey in managing my health with an autoimmune disease and also finding work that lights me up so I hope that my little space on the interwebs can be a sanctuary of sorts for others seeking inspiration for a whole and healthy life.

What is your morning routine? Morning is my favourite part of the day.  I love the peace, quiet and feeling like I’ve got the whole world to myself.  On rising I wrap my hands around a big mug of warm water mixed with either lemon or apple cider vinegar to stimulate my digestion and then plop myself on my cushion for some meditation followed by getting stretchy on my yoga mat (sometimes the other way around if I’m feeling too fidgety to settle into a meditation straight away).  Then it’s time to whip up some breakfast.  If I’ve got a busy day it might be something I’ve pre prepared like a chia pudding, overnight oats or a quick smoothie or juice with a hard boiled egg.  If I’ve got more time, poached eggs on greens or coconut pancakes.  After that I take my fur babies, Missy and Coco, who have been patiently or not so patiently waiting for their walk or should I say their opportunity to walk me … they’re so cheeky.

What’s burning a hole in your playlist? (Even if it’s embarrassing) Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay ever since it was released.  Even I can’t believe I haven’t tired of it yet!  I love how music has the power to move you.  Oh and I’m one of those people who love to belt out a tune in the car … by myself though with all the windows sealed for the protection of others.  I sense you’re really after something cheesier.  Yeah?  How about will.i.am and Miley Cyrus’ Fall Down.  That more like it?  Or perhaps you’d love to know that I was a massive fan of Vanilla Ice, New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men and Jeremy Jordan when I was oh so young?  I bet that’s the gold you were digging for.

What are your favourite apps? I’ll be honest I don’t use too may apps.  I’m a bit old school.  I did just download ‘Clue’ though, a period tracker.  I didn’t like the last one I was using so I deleted it but I missed getting a heads up for when that time of the month is approaching.  I don’t like surprises.  It also lets me know why I might not be feeling my zen-like self (hello PMS).

What else?  I love YogaGlo and HeadSpace so much that I included them in my ‘3-month De-Stress Your Life’ coaching program for my clients.  There’s an epidemic of women being overextended at the moment and most people’s reasoning for not doing those things they know are best for them is lack of time.  These apps help make it possible for you to get an injection of serenity into your day without too much effort.

What book would you recommend to your younger self? The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.  It lays the foundation for a life of love, happiness and freedom through the teachings of being impeccable with your word, not taking anything personally, not making assumptions and always doing your best.   It delivers so much wisdom in a simple to understand, short and sweet manual.  I would actually recommend it to everyone.

Tell us what you ate yesterday. (Be honest! ;o) Breakfast: A ‘whatever is left in the fridge’ green smoothie (coconut water, kale, apple, turmeric, ginger, chia seeds, avocado and a pinch of maca). Mid-morning: Hard boiled egg. Lunch: Pumpkin and sweet potato soup and flax seed crackers. Dinner: Chilli Con Carne topped with guacamole, garnished with maybe a few too many organic tortilla chips (hahaha … they’re organic so that makes it okay right?) and a big green crispy salad.

Where do you eat out? To be honest I’m eating out less and less these days.  I love making my own food, using the best ingredients available and adding in as much as vitamin L(ove) as I can.  Nothing tastes better than homemade.  I’ll eat breakfasts and lunches out mostly and it’s at places that serve up quality healthy fare like my local cafe, The Cook’s Pantry in Grange http://www.thecookspantry.com.au, The Organik Store in Glenelg http://www.theorganikstore.com.au or Nutrition Republic in Goodwood http://www.nutritionrepublic.com.au .

On a perfect day, what would you do? I’m a real homebody so my perfect day would be to get up and do my morning routine, have a coffee date with the husband at our local cafe, set off on a beach walk or bush hike with a packed lunch to connect with mama nature, get lost in a book with a big pot of tea in the afternoon, make some homemade cauliflower pizzas for dinner and watch a movie curled up on the couch with my little family.

List 3 things that make your heart sing. Cuddles with my babies, yoga, seeing my beautiful clients blitz their goals and realise their own awesomeness and the unwavering support, encouragement and love of my husband.  Oooops.  That’s 4.  Sorry!

How do you want to feel? (Your Core Desired Feelings) Radiant – Aligned – Connection – Sacred – Abundance

What’s one life lesson you’ve learned that you would teach a daughter? Gosh.  There are so many but if I had to choose one it would be to always be kind and to not let the world make you bitter.  Situations and circumstances will always arise that will test you.  It’s life and regardless of the outcome you will grow from the experience.  However the way you respond is what makes the difference.  You will never regret being kind and you might just inspire someone else to be a littler kinder too.

The last time you had a breakthrough epiphany, what did you learn? I have them regularly and the message of late is always the same, reinforcing it I guess: in the end it all comes down to choosing love over fear. Fear dresses itself up in so many costumes like perfectionism, self-doubt, comparison, limiting beliefs etc.  When you undress them all it’s fear that’s hiding underneath.
