Linda Ellis :: Lunch Lady Lou :: Fabulous Female Friday
How would your biggest fan describe what you do? A culinary lifesaver. A personal chef delivering delicious food to the door that’s created with health and happiness in mind.
What’s lighting up your world at the moment? There’s lots on the go at Lunch Lady Lou – a new website and a delicious office challenge to get your work buddies involved in and ditch the fast food. I can’t wait to launch them.
What is your morning routine? I start Lunch Lady Lou prep around 5am, so my morning routine is lightning fast. Lots of water and either Apple Cider Vinegar concoction or a lemon water depending what I have. Breakfast is on the go, so its either a beautiful frittata so I get a veggie and protein hit in the one or a smoothie.
What’s burning a hole in your playlist? (Even if it’s embarrassing) Erykah Badu, Outkast and Alt-J
What are your favourite apps? Instagram and shamefully, the Commbank app.
What book would you recommend to your younger self? To the younger me, I say… just READ A book. More than one page :) Food related – Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon
Tell us what you ate yesterday. (Be honest! ;o) Brekky – Mums homemade muesli concoction. Lunch – Soft boiled egg with organic greens and homemade labneh. Snack – My famous chocolate mousse, made from greek yoghurt, raw cacao powder, home-made cashew butter and cinnamon. Dinner – Lentil dahl and a tandoori-spiced lamb kebab
Where do you eat out? Not very many places. I prefer to cook or have someone cook for me :) In the East – Lox Stock & Barrel or Earth to Table are my favourites. On the North side, which is where I live now, Bloom cafe in Mosman is worthy of a visit any day of the week.
On a perfect day, what would you do? My perfect day is in summer, 30 degrees (not a fan of the cold). An early morning walk or run to the water. Then swim, followed by coffee, breakfast, picnics and more swimming.
List 3 things that make your heart sing.
- Jumping into the ocean from a rock or jetty or boat or anything other than the traditional walking into water (that’s so 90’s)
- Sunrises and waking up early for them, not staying out late.
- Unplanned adventures
How do you want to feel? (Your Core Desired Feelings) I haven’t done the Desire Map yet! I think I need to grab a ticket to your event.
What’s one life lesson you’ve learned that you would teach a daughter? Your intuition is like a muscle – the more you use it, the stronger it will get.
The last time you had a breakthrough epiphany, what did you learn? That I am enough!
